Okay, okay...I guess I'm celebrating this catastrophe. My "Big 3-0" party will be at my home Saturday, August 27 @ 5pm. For those of you who are "Bocce Ball Invitational" virgins, the party will continue until 10am Sunday :-). We'll have assorted grilled items, beverages, a hot tub (no clothes allowed), the usual suspects (mostly naked, very intoxicated), Bocce Ball, body painting, etc. If you're in town, and I know you in the "Real World" get your ass over here for the last hoorah of the summer! Click here (or on the logo) for the flyer/map.

British Virgin Islands

Wellie, wellie, wellie, well then...
I just got back from a fantastic trip in the British Virgin Islands. The cast and crew included Marcus (my brother), Simon (bro's friend), Hans (bro's friend), Ted (my dad), Jessa (my girlfriend) and myself. We bareboat chartered out of The Moorings for five days.

I'll post an extensive travel blog at some point, but for now you're all stuck looking at the pictures with no snazzy prose to accompany it.

Check out the images here.

I love old cameras. I love them. However, since I have no darkroom, I have been finding it more and more difficult to "get what I want" with them photographically. I've been eyeballing the prosumer digital SLR market with with claws raised and fangs dripping for a few years now. I finally pounced. I just bought a Nikon D70 outfit. Finally!!! Did I mention "Yay for me!"
For those of you interested in a digital SLR, this one comes highly recommended. Thanks to Jeff over at TEN100 I was lucky enough to get to shoot some studio sessions with a D70 before I bought one. I... (more)

RE: Poetry

So...I'm thinking of posting some poetry (old and new.) Fear grips me. What if somebody reads it? Would they see themselves in the lines? Would they imagine themselves the subject where they were not? It's funny how often people will, when confronted by the writings of someone they know personally, "locate" themselves in the art. Sometimes truly, and other times only "potentially." Poetry, for me, is like a journal. "Behold the tenderest leaves of me!" Should I bear them? I am unsure.

Perhaps comments from you few readers will tell...

This may take awhile to load, depending on the speed of your internet access and how many other viewers are watching. Also, this camera has pretty bad low light performance...
